With a few friends and colleagues, I have launched the online journal Conditions - Sociétés et communautés musulmanes.
Conditions aims at documenting the lived realities of Muslim communities in Europe as well as the socio-historical configurations specific to Muslim-majority societies. Its ambition is to examine the social, political, and intellectual circulations that make up the Islamicate. One of Conditions' explicit objectives is to contribute to breaking down the frontier that seems to separate the study of diasporic situations from that of Muslim-majority societies. Without denying the specificity of each context, Conditions nonetheless aims to be a space where they can be brought into dialogue.
